In summary, this document is about an example implementation of D4CR to support decision making processes in an organization with more than 25 users which work from three different facilities and also from home when necessary. Different users have different information needs and all of them are now supported by means of more than 30 different standardized reports we have created so far for them. The number of reports that we have made available to them continues to expand as new opportunities are identified.

Reports vary in type, depth and amount of potential users. For example, the first report in their menu is so comprehensive that the first time it was presented to one of the teams it took more than 30 minutes to go over all the specific details and information components in each of the tabs or sub-reports it contains. There are basically no limits on the type of analyses and report depth that we can implement and standardize for the use and benefit our our clients. The screenshots below exemplify some of the types of reports customers can generate.

Several natural language (NL) examples for each report (more than 100 overall) were provided, such that users have a starting point to creatively define new sub reports using NL. These sub reports can be kept as ‘Favorites’ for more efficient use of D4CR in future analysis sessions. The NL examples are kept as a reference point in the help system that also provides general information on how to use the system and how to use and take advantage of NL requests. As a result, generating information and sharing or exporting it to spreadsheets (xlsx, csv, etc.), PDF, or other formats is, from now on, always a few clicks away from decision makers.

To facilitate the production of standardized reports, each of them has a standard behavior such that it is always loaded with the same parameters when it is initially requested. For example, a report for the last three months sales by region or area, will always produce the same results (with the updated time frame: last three months) unless the user makes changes in the report parameters. In other words, users can use controls like date ranges, group-by columns and picking associated items, target response, numeric filters, etc. to produce different results from the same standardized report. One new feature we have made available is the capability of navigating through all the reports generated in the same session without the need of recreating them. This makes working sessions and analyses much simpler and efficient from a time management perspective.

One of the main contributions that this implementation of D4CR provides to our customer is that users at different levels of the organization can now directly generate their analyses and reports without the intervention of other IT or data analysis and technology departments. To support this environment, when new reports or data analysis processes are needed, users communicate to us their need and we generate and add to the system a unique, standardized, and validated report for everyone's use. The efficiencies, information availability and knowledge homogenization generated by D4CR has resulted in high levels of efficiency, confidence and trust throughout our client organization.

From the technical standpoint, the system is currently managing dozens of DB tables. We are also supporting all their data entry needs with our solutions. Solutions that promote high-quality data, because their former data collection systems were highly prone to human data entry errors that propagated throughout many tables, and thus, analyses and reports. Indeed, we migrated their system from MS Access to a formal DB system, cleaned data in many ways, and programmatically implemented many solutions to increase their data quality. It has been very fulfilling to see how Mac and Windows users seamlessly use D4CR, and other tools we developed, to fulfill all their information and report generation needs from a reliably consolidated source.

Additionally I want to mention that D4CR provides a data analysis application for advanced analysts. This application can be used to generate Pivot Analysis (graphics and tabular summaries) and many other data exploration analyses (time lines, bar charts, histograms, statistical control charts, etc.) from any dataset imported from a spreadsheet or from a DB table. Imported data can be modified by different types of filters on any number of columns (text, numbers, etc.).

We customize and deliver D4CR and all of its components as SaaS such that our customers get a fine tuned solution to their needs. Additionally, we continuously monitor and support our solutions such that the process of generating updated information and reports remains as a quick and reliable process for all key players in the organization.

Our work creating D4CR was recognized by Stephen Wolfram in the Wolfram Technology Conference 2020. I received the Wolfram Innovator Award 2020 because of the depth and quality of the work done with the Wolfram Language (WL) and its extensive library of functions for analytics, machine learning, prediction models, image processing and symbolic processing. Note that WL is an OS-agnostic platform, thus, D4CR, and our solutions in general, seamlessly work on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Additionally, note that we deliver D4CR as a stand-alone and fully deployed in your OS application without the need of purchasing any other software.

This is a screenshot of D4CR demo version showing an example request and one of its associated outputs (map) along with some of its GUI elements. Different output types are available depending on the users needs: graphics, maps, pivot analysis, charts, tabular reports, predictions, etc. Your data may be in spreadsheets or any known database system. This is another example where the user interface is shown to demonstrate that natural language requests are customizable if desired. This report contains three main objects: data, a chart, and a map. All results are easily exportable to different formats.
